A man who was struck by a train north of Beaverton last week has died.

Durham Regional Police said on Monday that the 38-year-old man succumbed to his injuries on Friday night.

The Beaverton man was airlifted to a Toronto hospital with critical injuries after he was struck by the train in the area of Concession Road 9 and Shoreline Road on Thursday night.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation.
