An OPP officer is being praised after helping a young boy, who was struggling to make a snowman in Orillia.

Const. Marcus Lee was on patrol on Matchedash Street, when he saw Isaiah Tasse, 6, struggling to push a boulder of snow. Lee parked his cruiser and got out to help.

Lee was asked by a friend if he had seen Facebook “and I said no, so he sent a bunch of pictures and I was kind of shocked.”

“The big ball of snow was just too heavy for the young child to move so Const. Lee helped him roll it in to place,” OPP said in a statement.

Tasse’s mother was inside the home caring for her other child, and noticed Lee helping her son.

“(He) came over and helped him build it. Asking questions like he was actually interested in what Isaiah was saying. Things like, what he wanted for Christmas and if he was being a good boy,” Jessica Blemings said in a Facebook post.

Blemings took photos of the officer helping her and son and posted them on Facebook. They have since gone viral and may are praising the Lee for his good deed.

“There needs to be more of this! Not just around Christmas time, but all year round,” Bleming said.
