Provincial police say no charges will be laid in connection to an August shooting death in the Haliburton Highlands.

The incident happened in the Township of Dysart et al on Aug. 16 at a residence on Highway 118. When officers arrived, they found a 62-year-old Haliburton man dead at the scene.

 A 40-year-old man believed to be involved in the shooting was found shortly after and was taken to hospital. Police say both men had suffered gunshot wounds.

Following a two month long investigation, OPP say they have closed the case. Police didn’t provide an explanation as to why there will be no charges.
