Officers spent the day searching a property in Nottawa, looking for any clues in the disappearance of Kelly Coleman.

Coleman was 33 when she went missing in the Barrie area in August 2011, but police spent Wednesday searching a 13 acre property, where she lived in a garage apartment.

"It's really frustrating and confusing for the whole family,” says Coleman’s sister, Lindsay Stubbs. “Really we just hope for the best and I've had hope the whole time, hopefully today will be something good."

This is the first extensive search of the property, but police won't say if the focus here comes as a result of a specific tip.

"Once we get a case of this nature, there's many different aspect that we look at and different techniques that we use and this is just part of that process," says OPP Const. Mark Kinney.

Police dogs and a drone were used to survey the entire property. Stubbs spent some time at the search, holding photos and hoping for news.

"Since we don't really know if she's alive or not, today will hopefully bring closure if she is gone and if she is out there, hopefully she will hear this and contact one of us,” Stubbs said while fighting through tears. “She was just the best big sister, and I miss her, and I want to know if she's okay."

In hopes of bringing more awareness to the case, police have also posted a billboard along Highway 26, just outside of Collingwood.

"It’s all in the attempt to try and trigger some memories. Trying to get those people that may have at the time of the disappearance thought, ‘well that' snot that important’. Any information is important."

Police have wrapped up their investigation for the day and will be back at the property on Thursday.

Anyone with information about Coleman’s disappearance is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
