Barrie Police are looking for two men, one armed with a rifle, who confronted a resident in a home on Shanty Bay Road late Friday night.

Police say it was just before midnight when the men tried to get into the home through a back door.

The men demanded money and drugs from the resident, but the resident screamed and the suspects took off on foot.

A canine unit was used to track the scene of the suspects, but it lost the scent along Blake Street.

Barrie Police tell CTV News that both men are white and in their early 20s.    One was wearing a balaclava, a blue hoodie and work gloves.

The other is only described as having short dark hair.
Police say they do not believe that there is a threat to the public associated with this incident.

Officers plan to canvass some of the resident’s neighbours on Saturday to try to gather more information.

Anyone who may have information is urged to reach out to Barrie Police.
