More than twenty people were rescued Saturday morning from Kempenfelt Bay after the dragon boat they were riding in sunk.

The boat was taking part in the annual Barrie Dragon boat festival being held in Heritage Park.

Barrie Police tell CTV News their Marine Unit and other rescue boats were able to rescue all people and nobody was injured.

The boat was then towed to the shore and the races continued.

Races at the 12th annual Dragon Boat Festival will continue until 4:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
