Collingwood O.P.P. are still saying very little about their investigation into a “sudden death” at a home in the town.

A man was found dead in the backyard of a house on Hickory Street on Sunday, but police are refusing to provide any comment on their investigation until an autopsy has been performed.

Neighbours tell CTV News emergency crews have been parked outside the home since around 10 a.m on Sunday, and have been busy gathering evidence since then.

“An ambulance pulled up and shortly after, a fire truck,” said Collingwood resident Damon Clarke. “They got the stretcher out and went into the house. But they quickly came back out and put the stretcher away and that's when we knew something was up.”

A shoe and some broken pieces of wood from the backyard deck can been seen from the road.

Neighbours say the man who lives in the house works at the Legion in Collingwood.

“I guess we would be happy to know whether it was something serious, something we should be worried about,” said Clarke.

Police have made no mention of foul play so far.

They also provided no indication as to when the autopsy results might be available.
