A 29-year-old Newmarket man has been charged with the second degree in connection with the death of his two-year-old son.
York Regional Police say they were called to a house on Longford Drive on Thursday at 2 p.m. where they found the child, who was not breathing.
He was brought to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say the man was the only person with the child at the time and they don’t believe anyone else is involved.
The investigation is ongoingand the cause of death of the child is being withheld as part of the investigation.
The man will appear in court on Sunday to answer to the charge.
