Multiple police raids were carried out in Toronto, York Region and Niagara Region early Thursday.

Police say more than 30 search warrants were executed as part of an investigation dubbed Project Yellowbird, focusing on high-end home and vehicle break-ins.

Heavily armed tactical officers were involved in the early-morning raids.

There's no immediate word on charges or what may have been seized by police during the raids.

Details of the raids are expected to be released in a news conference on Thursday afternoon.
