The public is being warned about a scam, where a woman is going door-to-door posing as a nurse.
According to Barrie police, the woman has been gaining entry to people’s homes by talking to them about a private health care business.
Once inside, police say the woman tries to find credit cards or other sensitive information to defraud the homeowner. This scam has been reported in Simcoe County.
Police say to always ask for credentials before allowing a stranger into your home. Residents can validate a person's claim by referencing the individual’s credentials on The College of Nurses of Ontario website.
