A lot of people in our region are hoping the worst is over when it comes to spring flooding.

Water levels along the Black River near Washago remained high on Friday. According to Ramara Fire Chief Dave McCarthy the levels are beginning to drop a bit but that could change quickly, especially with rain and mild weather in the forecast. In the meantime, the Township is offering up sandbags to those who live near flood prone areas.

In Bracebridge, water volume remained high on Friday. According to local authorities the levels are holding strong. But again, that could change given the forecast. A flood warning remains in place for Parry Sound and Muskoka.

And in Springwater Township water levels remain high along the Nottawasaga River.  Springwater Fire officials say they hope there will be a drop in the water levels in the next couple of days. The area too remains under a flood warning.
