Two people are dead following an industrial accident in west-end Toronto.

Emergency officials say the incident happened at a condo development (in the area of Bloor Street and Keele Street) near the High Park area.

Toronto police Const. Victor Kwong says police responded to the scene at about 11 a.m. Friday after getting reports that a crane had fallen onto some scaffolding.

He says one person was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was rushed to hospital without vital signs but was later pronounced dead.

Kwong says a third person was also injured but that person's injuries are believed to be minor.

The Ministry of Labour has been called in to investigate the incident.
