Two landscapers are in hospital, one with serious injuries after a hit-and-run in Barrie’s south end.

According to Barrie police, the pair was working behind the Walmart on Mapleview Drive on Friday afternoon when a vehicle came down a lane that was blocked off.

One of the workers had his foot run over – he suffered minor injuries.

The second man was leaf blowing and didn’t see or hear the car coming. According to investigators, the man went onto the hood, struck the windshield and rolled off.

He was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the driver then drove off. The vehicle is described as a small, dark coloured car, possibly a Chrysler Neon. The vehicle may have damage to its hood and windshield.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
