A 15-year-old boy had to be airlifted to a Toronto hospital on Wednesday afternoon after a snowmobile accident in Haliburton.

Police responded to a single snowmobile crash at the Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve in Dysart et al Township around 12:15 p.m.

When they arrived they were told the snowmobile lost control and hit a tree.

The teen, who was the only one on the snowmobile, was airlifted with serous but non-life threatening injuries to St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto.

Police are still investigating.
