Provincial police are investigating an alleged sexual assault that happened after a solicitor visited a woman’s home.

According to the OPP, the victim let the man into her Orillia home on Tuesday after telling her that some work needed to be done. Few other details have been released, but police say the assault happened some time later.

The OPP say their investigation is in its early stages and officers have canvassed the area. The alleged suspect and victim did not know each other.

A suspect description hasn't been released.

Police are reminding the public to always be cautious when solicitors knock on their door.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
