An OPP officer has been charged with dangerous driving after a three vehicle crash near Alliston earlier this month.

On Monday November 3 approximately 5:45 p.m. a three vehicle crash happened on the 14th Line between the 10th Sideroad and Industrial Parkway involving a fully marked OPP cruiser, a car and a minivan.

Police say the officer was responding to a call eastbound on the 14th Line with its emergency lights activated when it tried to avoid a collision with a car turning left. A minivan travelling westbound on the 14th Line was also involved in the crash.

All three drivers were transported to local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The OPP called in their Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) to investigate.

The officer, a six-year member of the OPP, was charged with dangerous driving. He will appear in court next month.
