The Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with centre Connor McDavid on a three-year entry-level contract.

The 18-year-old phenom spent the last three seasons with the OHL's Erie Otters.

He was selected by the Oilers with the first overall pick in last month's NHL Entry Draft.

McDavid, from Newmarket, Ont., had 120 points (44 goals, 76 assists) in 47 games with Erie last season.

The six-foot-one 190-pounder was named Canadian Hockey League player of the year.

He also helped Canada win gold at the 2015 world junior hockey championship.
