Almaguin Highlands OPP were called in after a man allegedly tampered with a log dam in the Village of South River, north of Burk’s Falls, several times.

Police say the 57-year-old man was first seen taking logs from the dam to change the flow around June 13, and there subsequent complaints.

On Sunday, officers arrested and charged the South River man with mischief. He was also charged with several counts of “Alter, Improve or Repair Dam without Minister’s Approval” and “Obstruct Inspector or Engineer” contrary to the Lakes and River Improvement Act.

He has an Aug. 14 court date.
