A local man is spending his long weekend biking across Simcoe County to raise awareness for a local homeless shelter.

Tom Oldershaw left Barrie on Sunday to continue the 3rd annual RideForBusby charity event.

The ride benefits the David Busby Street Centre in Barrie.

Oldershaw, who is also on the Busby Centre’s Board of Directors, will bike over 400 kilometres while hoping to raise $10,000 for the centre that has seen an increase in users in the past year.

Oldershaw’s trek will take him through the Barrie, Orillia, Midland, Elmvale and Minesing areas.
