Friday marks the last day lifeguards will be on duty at two Barrie beaches.

Starting Saturday, Centennial Beach and Johnsons Beach will be unsupervised. This follows a one week extension after beaches remained busy.

The beaches will remain open for the rest of the summer and buoy lines will stay n the water until the end of labour day weekend

The city is asking you to be water smart, which includes swimming within arm’s reach and with a buddy.
