A 27-year-old man is facing numerous charges after he allegedly kidnapped a man in Muskoka.

Police say they were called to a home in Huntsville on Saturday August 30, 2014 after a report of an assault.

During their investigation, police say that a 20-year-old man was taken into a home on Thursday August 28th and forced to remain there for nearly 24 hours.

Police say in that time the victim was assaulted, threatened and not allowed to leave. Police also say the man was taken to a local bank and forced to remove money from his account.

Police are not saying if the two men know each other.

Police conducted a search warrant at the home and charged the man. He is facing kidnapping, robbery, forcible confinement, and assault charges.

He will remain behind bars until Wednesday September 3rd when a bail hearing will be held in Bracebridge.
