A Barrie woman, who drowned her two young daughters in a bathtub in 2006, is appealing her life sentence.
Elaine Campione was found guilty of first degree murder after drowning her 3-year-old and 19-month-old daughters.
Campione’s lawyer were before Ontario’s Court of Appeal in Toronto on Wednesday arguing that she deserves a new trial and citing mistakes they feel were made in her trial.
It may take a few months before the appeal judges make a decision.
Campione is currently serving a mandatory life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years.
