South Simcoe Police say a Bradford senior was robbed by a man who stopped and asked for directions.

The elderly man heard a knock at his door on a rural part of the 6th Line on Thursday evening. The man answered and was met by the suspect who asked for directions.

The suspect then left and returned five minutes later for additional directions. However, police say this time the suspect pushed the senior backwards and ripped a gold chain from his neck.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 5’10” and 6’, with short brown hair. The man was reportedly clean shaven with a slight tan. He was seen leaving the area in a four-door grey car.

Police believe the suspect was checking rural properties in an effort to commit break and enters.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
