The Barrie Baycats wrapped up their regular season in the Intercounty Baseball League Monday night.

They had a chance to set a franchise record with 30 wins, but to do so they had to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Baycats jumped out to an early lead as they scored three runs in the top of the first inning.

But then the Leafs knocked in seven in the bottom half.

Barrie reduced the gap to one by scoring three more in the top of the second and the pattern had been established.

Neither pitching staff will remember this game with any fondness as the two teams combined for 37 hits.

Jordan Castaldo had four for the Baycats, including two home runs as he finished the regular season with a .417 average.

Barrie won the game 19-10 and will top the final standings with a 30-and-6 record.
