A 36-year-old Barrie woman is facing two charges, including impaired operation of a motor vehicle by drug, after an incident on Wednesday afternoon.

Police got two separate calls from drivers around 1:45 p.m. who had concerns over a woman driving in the city. Police say the woman exited at Highway 400 northbound at Duckworth Street along Georgian Drive near RVH.

A witness told police the woman was driving all over the road and cutting people off and one point police say the woman was driving on the opposite side of the road before stopping.

When police arrived they determined she was impaired by a drug and was taken to RVH for a blood test. The woman has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle by drug and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

She will be back in court to answer to the charges in November.

Police would like to thank the quick actions of witnesses alerting officers of the woman. Police are also reminding drivers they will be out in full strength over the Thanksgiving weekend.
