A Barrie man has been charged with impaired driving after he allegedly left the scene of a crash in Innisfil.

A car and a garbage truck collided at the 10 Sideroad and 9th Line intersection on Tuesday, just before 9 p.m. According to South Simcoe Police, the two drivers got into an argument and the driver of the car left the scene.

Investigators were able to locate the driver and arrested him at his home. The 21-year-old Barrie man has since been charged with impaired driving, failing to remain and dangerous driving. He will appear in court in April.

Police are now looking to speak with a possible witness to the crash. They’re looking for the driver of a five tonne box truck that had the word “Simcoe” on the side.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
