A Barrie man has been charged after police say he was clocked driving 50 km/h over the posted speed limit.

According to South Simcoe Police, an officer was conducting speed enforcement on Yonge Street near Sixth Line in Innisfil on Friday, around 3 p.m. That’s when police say the officer clocked a Dodge pickup truck travelling at 134 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

The pickup was stopped a short time later and the driver, an 18-year-old from Barrie, was charged with stunt driving and speeding. The man’s licence has been suspended for seven days and his vehicle impounded.

The accused will appear before a court next month.
