Barrie police have arrested one man after a donation box was stolen from a Barrie Tim Hortons this weekend.

A second suspect is still at large.

On Saturday, police were called to Bradford Street in Barrie after two men placed an order before telling the clerk to open the till. According to police, the clerk couldn’t open the till and then ran to the back of the store, so one of the men grabbed the Tim Horton’s Children’s Foundation donation box and ran away.

Investigators were able to ID one of the suspects using video surveillance, and got a warrant for his arrest. The 28-year-old has no fixed address and was arrested downtown this morning for robbery and theft.

The second suspect is described as a white male, about 5’9” tall, with a thin build, wearing a black hooded sweater, black pants, and black running shoes.
