A mobile exhibit  set up at Base Borden on Tuesday, showing off some of Canada’s military and civilian medals and military insignia.

“It’s An Honour!” is a National tour put on by the office of the Governor General. The mobile exhibit celebrates Canada’s national honours and the stories that surround their recipients.

“It's a nice blend of history and technology… it's a hands on type of exhibit,” says exhibit host, Francois Grenier. “We have some beautiful medals all around that the visitors can actually hold.”

The 1,000 ft. rolling exhibit not only has The Order of Canada Medal honouring exceptional lifetime achievement; it has a registry of some of the more than 6,000 Canadians who have been awarded it, including Chris Hadfield.

After being on the road for almost two years, Grenier says the most popular display onboard isn't a medal, but rather someone who is chasing after the Stanley Cup.

“Well of course every time they see Sydney Crosby's 2013 playoff jersey--you know that's always a big hit.”

If you would like to see, touch and learn more about honourable Canadians and the impact they've had on our country, the “It's an Honour” exhibit will be at the Almira Maple Syrup Festival this Friday and Saturday.
