An Innisfil man was shot multiple times with a pellet gun during a robbery on Wednesday night.

The man was walking in the area of the 10th Line near Lake Simcoe when he saw two youths, one of whom he knew. The man stopped and started up a conversation with the teens.

South Simcoe Police say the youth he knew entered a vehicle, pulled out a pellet gun and demanded cash. The victim was then shot several times. He was later taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police say the suspect then tried driving away, but ended up in a ditch, leaving the 17-year-old to flee on foot. He was later arrested and charged with robbery with a firearm, pointing a firearm, weapons dangerous, assault with a weapon, dangerous driving and theft over $5,000.

He will appear in court at a future date.
