A 52-year-old Barrie man is in custody after police say he held a woman down and forced her to have sex with him.
Police were called to an address on Edgehill Drive April 13 for a report of a woman being sexually assaulted. Police say the woman had been out drinking with friends and came back to the residence.
It’s alleged she was alone in the living room with the man, who police say made several gestures toward the woman trying to coax her into having sex, and when she refused he assaulted her.
Barrie police say he was arrested today and is being held for a bail hearing.
Police say the 52-year-old man was later identified through information officers gathered in their investigation.
