A suspect who allegedly broke into a Collingwood woman’s apartment and sexually assaulted her has been arrested.

Provincial police arrested a 55-year-old Collingwood man on Thursday, charging him with two counts of sexual assault, break and enter and one count of criminal harassment.

On Friday, police say the accused broke into the woman’s apartment in the 200 block of Saint-Paul Street. Investigators allege the man sexually assaulted her once he was inside.

The man was not known to the victim.

The OPP also say the man is responsible for a second sexual assault that happened weeks earlier in the same building.

The investigation is ongoing.
