More than 128 children from across Ontario, including a bunch from Simcoe County and York Region, flew to Florida on Wednesday for the 26th annual Dreams Take Flight trip.

Organizers and local agencies to hand pick a special group of kids to take the trip of a lifetime to Disney World.

They were granted access to all the rides, including the Mine Train and Splash Mountain.

The kids face physical, mental or social challenges but their troubles have been checked at the park gate.

“They see a lot of things that other people are doing and they want to be just like them and they want to be a normal child. It’s just fantastic day for some children that could never have it happen,” says Dreams Take Flight President Bill Sanderson.

Michelle Murray has been volunteering on four years, helping lead the kids through the Magic Kingdom. She says there is something truly magical about it.

“It’s a life changing experience, these kids are not told no for 24 hours, and it’s so fun. They are taking it all in, amazed by the simples littlest things,” says Murray.

And although it is only one day, kids will never forget it.

“I’ve always dreamed of coming to a place like this and now I have,” says Brandon Russell from Collingwood.
