A jury is deliberating the fate of a Washago woman in a sensational murder trial.

50-year-old Margaret Lee Cole is accused of killing 82-year-old Richard Humble on April 9, 2011 in order to steal his money.

Humble was pulled from his burning house in Washago by his neigbours and died hours later.

The Cown alleges Cole was desperate for money after an insurance payout she received from her own home burning down ran out.

During the trial, the Crown argued Cole befriended Humble, became his caregiver and then hatched a plan to steal his money.

The Crown is accusing Cole of drugging Humble, setting his home on fire with him inside and then forging Humble's will and power of attorney documents.

An expert has testified that Humble’s will was forged.

The defense says the jury must find Cole not guilty of first degree murder because the Crown and experts couldn’t prove the fire was arson.

The jury has no access to television, radio or newspapers until they reach a verdict. That could take several days.
