An Innisfil teen and a Stouffville man have been arrested as part of a large bust targeting a robbery ring in Toronto.

In total, Toronto police arrested 10 people in connection to a dozen robberies that occurred in the city since March, as part of “Project Castle”.

Investigators say the accused were responsible for robbing people of TTC fares, as well as robberies at stores and financial institutions.

According to police, officers participated in extensive stakeouts and paid special attention to the subway corridor.

“It is our belief that these individuals are responsible for further robberies prior to March 7, 2015,” said Staff Insp. Mike Earl at a news conference on Tuesday morning.

The 18-year-old Stouffville man has been charged with conspiracy to commit an offence, 12 counts of armed robbery and 12 counts of disguise with intent.

A 16-year-old Innisfil boy is charged with a number of firearm related charges, including possession of a firearm, and careless storage of a firearm.

“We’re hoping that the public can assist through Crime Stoppers in linking these individuals to other robberies.”

If anyone has further information about any robberies they’re encouraged to contact Toronto police or Crime Stoppers.
