Innisfil’s fire chief is stepping down.
Chief Randy Smith announced his resignation effective Jan. 3, 2014 today. Smith joined the Innisfil Fire and Rescue Services in 2011.
He has taken a position with Rocky View County in Alberta, the town says.
Innisfil Mayor Barb Baguley says Smith has “had a positive impact” on the town’s fire department and the community.
Smith was previously fire chief in the Township of Tiny and in the City of Terrace, BC. He was also Director of Emergency Services in Iqaluit, Nunavut.
