Impaired driving charges have been laid after a vehicle ended up in a canal in Lagoon City.

Provincial police were called to an area near South Island Trail on Saturday after receiving a report of a single-vehicle crash.

Officers arrived to find two men outside of a partially submerged vehicle in a canal.

The driver, a 26-year-old Bracebridge man, was arrested and charged with impaired driving.

The accused will appear in court on Sept. 13.
