More than 700 motorcyclists were out across Simcoe County for the annual Huronia Ride for Dad on Saturday, raising more than $100,000 for prostate cancer research.

One in six Canadian men will have to deal with prostate cancer in their lifetime, and it remains the third leading cause of death from cancer for Canadian men.

“This year there will be 49 events from coast to coast in every province and the money we’ve donated so far to prostate cancer research and awareness is just over $15 million,” says Ride for Dad national president Garry Janz.

That money has helped doctors improve treatment with more effective medications.
