A 27-year-old man facing several charges including kidnapping appeared in bail court Tuesday.

Huntsville OPP say they were called to a home in Huntsville on Saturday August 30, 2014 after a report of an assault.

During their investigation, police say that a man was taken into a home on Thursday August 28th and forced to remain there for nearly 24 hours.

Police say in that time the victim was assaulted, threatened and not allowed to leave. Police also say the man was taken to a local bank and forced to remove money from his account.

Police are not saying if the two men know each other.

The accused is facing kidnapping, robbery, forcible confinement and assault charges.

A publication ban prohibits reporting any evidence presented in court.

The accused remains in police custody and will appear in court on September 8th in Bracebridge.
