Firefighters were called to a grass fire inside the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park on Monday morning.
A driver passing by on Power Line Road noticed smoke near a trail entrance and called it in. The fire was starting to spread into a large forested area but was quickly doused by crews.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
Small backyard fires are permitted in Wasaga Beach but the fire department wants to remind residents that forest areas are dry and extra caution is needed until we get more rain.
