Advisories have been posted for four beaches in Muskoka and Simcoe County.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has posted advisories at Bayview Memorial Park in Oro-Medonte, Hanna Park Beach in Muskoka Lakes, Pete Petersen Park Beach in Midland and Washago Centennial Park Beach in Severn.
Advisories are issued when the bacteria count in the water gets too high. The health unit says the beaches aren’t closed, but there is an increased risk of developing minor infections and stomach disorders.
The health unit recommends people not dunk their head under or swallow the water.
Signs are posted at the beaches cautioning the advisory.
