Five men have been charged in separate child pornography investigation that happened over the last two months.  

Officers with the OPP, Barrie police and South Simcoe Police executed eight search warrants between March 28 and April 5. Police raided homes in Barrie, Bradford, Essa, and Huntsville during that time.

In total, 42 devices were seized and 16 charges laid. Those charges range from luring a child over the Internet, possession of child pornography and making it available.

Here’s some more information about the accused:

  • A 25-year-old Bradford man was arrested on March 28
  • A 26-year-old Barrie man was arrested on April 3
  • A 50-year-old Barrie man was arrested on April 4
  • A 58-year-old Huntsville man was arrested on April 4
  • A 61-year-old Essa Township man was arrested on April 5

The OPP says a related investigation has been passed to police in the U.S.

The investigations are ongoing and all five accused will appear in court at a future date.
