A home just outside of Bracebridge was destroyed by fire last night, displacing a family.

Crews were called to a home on Churchhill Road, just after 7 p.m. on Saturday after receiving reports of a chimney fire. The homeowner was able to make it out safely.

Officials say as the fire progressed, the flames made their way into the roof.

Firefighters were back on scene Sunday to investigate the cause.

There's no word on how much damage was done, but the house is considered to be a complete loss.
