A father and son have been arrested after allegedly breaking into a home to beat up a man for dating the son’s ex-girlfriend.
Barrie police were called to a home on Mapleton Avenue on Friday, around 9 p.m. for a disturbance. The complainant told police that two men had just broken in and were assaulting him.
When officers arrived, the suspects were trying to flee the scene, but were apprehended by police. Investigators say the duo went to the home to assault the new boyfriend of the son’s ex-girlfriend.
The two have been charged and will appear in court at a future date.
