Even though people are out savouring the mid-summer like temperatures this week, there’s no denying fall is around the corner.

Fortunately, there is some good news when it comes to the fall forecast; Environment Canada is predicting September and October to be warmer than normal.

"We can still get temperatures in the high twenties approaching thirty degrees," said Geoff Coulson a meteorologist with Environment Canada.  “We could be adding more thirty plus days during September."

Coulson said temperatures will drop back down to the teens in October, but there are no early indications of an early cold snap.

There is some bad news; wilting leaves means fall colours could take a hit due to the drier than normal summer.

"It may be impacted by the dry conditions by some of those trees already being stressed by the lack of moisture, so maybe not getting those same vibrant colours shades that we normally see," said Coulson.

Fall officially arrives on September 22 at 10:21 a.m.
