Even though people are out savouring the mid-summer like temperatures this week, there’s no denying fall is around the corner.

Fortunately, there is some good news when it comes to the fall forecast; Environment Canada is predicting the next three months will be warmer than normal.

Precipitation is expected to be near normal for most areas across the country.

Some farmers in Simcoe County are hoping Environment Canada’s fall outlook is correct.

“I am hoping September and October are warmer and drier than normal, so people can come out and enjoy those activities, the corn mazes the pumpkin patches all these things,  our corn maze will open this coming weekend,” said Kevin Ward of Fernwood Farms. For Ward, agritourism is just as important as the crops in the field.

The first week of September 2014 was also unseasonably warm in the Barrie area.
