Tourists from half way around the world have flocked to the Southern Georgian Bay area to see the gorgeous fall colours.

The tourism industry typically slows down after Labour Day but the fall colours are a chance for businesses to thrive before the quiet of winter sets in.

For us Your Canada's maple is very famous, the other trees are yellow, not the maple but the other trees are yellow very beautiful for us we like it.

Su Chen Wang is visiting from Taiwan and says she loves the yellow trees and thinks it’s very beautiful here.

Some businesses offer zip lining, Gondola rides, or even helicopter rides to take in the colourful views.

“We head to the escarpment you will see scenic caves, the ski hills, some golf courses, and then we will head out over the water over north winds beach. You can see all of the islands out there,” said Marcus Vogel from Air 44 Helicopter Services. “Then we come back over the light house and over the harbour.”

One of Vogel’s favourite stops is a vineyard in the Beaver Valley.

“We welcome them with a glass of bubble when they come in on the helicopter and then they have a personal tasting with some wines and cheeses and then off they go around the valley and up the coast past the Blue Mountains for a scenic tour” describes Robert Ketchin of Georgian Hills Vineyard.

The colours are just getting started in the Georgian Bay area, whereas farther north they are between 40 and 50%.
