Barrie Police is warning of fake American bills circulating in the city.
On March 17 and 18, 2015, an unknown man entered three different restaurants in Barrie and paid for food with a fake $100 American dollar bill. All bills were accepted which left the man to walk away with about $75 in change.
On March 18, the same man was also reported in Collingwood passing off fake $100 American bills.
The man is described as:
- White
- Mid to late 20s
- Approx. 5’10”
- Medium build
- Dark brown hair, parted to the left
- Clean shaven
- Wearing dark shoes, dark jacket, wearing dark rimmed glasses.
Since August 2014, police have investigated 52 incidents of fake $20, $50 and $100 dollar bill that have been used in the city.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
