Environment Canada has ended an extreme cold weather warning for all of Ontario.

The weather authority ended the warning on Thursday, as temperatures get set to rise. The warning was initially issued because a surge of cold air produced wind chill values of -30 C overnight on Wednesday.

The high on Thursday is forecast to be at -10 C, but the mercury is expected to rise headed into the weekend. According to Environment Canada, the region could see its first set of above 0 C temperatures as early as Monday.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
