It will be a very cold end to the week across our region as Environment Canada has issued another extreme cold warning.

The weather office says a frigid arctic air mass will combine with light winds to produce wind chill values between minus 30 and minus 35 overnight on Thursday and early Friday morning.

The warning includes the areas of:

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago
  • Innisfil - New Tecumseth - Angus
  • Orangeville - Grand Valley - Dufferin County
  • Bracebridge - Gravenhurst
  • Huntsville - Baysville
  • Port Carling - Port Severn
  • Town of Parry Sound - Rosseau - Killbear Park
  • Owen Sound - Blue Mountains - Northern Grey County
  • Newmarket - Georgina - Northern York Region
  • Uxbridge - Beaverton - Northern Durham Region

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
